A kitesurfer sustained multiple broken bones, a Larchville resident was provided with temporary accommodation and a motorist had a miraculous escape from serious injury as a ‘mini tornado’ wreaked havoc in the city and county last Saturday.

A Tramore businessman, who had been kite surfing with four friends, was whipped into the air and catapulted up the beach, over a small promenade wall and smashed into the surround of skateboard park.

The man, who has not been named but who is known to be in his late 40s and married with a family, had been emerging from the water when the tornado struck.

The experienced kite surfer was removed by ambulance to Waterford Regional Hospital. Yesterday a hospital spokesperson described his condition as ‘stable.’

Art seamlessly blends with boarding during the ‘Art on Snow’ event, set to take place in Kleinwalsertal from 6-13 December, 2008.

Talented international artists from the boardsports scene will be showcasing their latest work during a week-long programme of board art exhibitions, workshops and parties.

The idea of Art on Snow is to give talented artists from the boardsports scene a platform to present their work.

The main-location of the project will be the newly renewed Casino Kleinwalsertal, where board rider and artist Andy Howell is going to present the exhibition of the ‘Seven Artistic Sins’. Other up-and-coming artists exhibiting their work include Eva Krusche and Peter Koerbler.

We stayed 8 days in Cumbuco and then we rented a picku-up to travel North… everyday we made long downwinds on the way to Jericoacoara.

Working hard on the beach, but we aren’t able to publish news as often as we would like to.

Short news from this kite trip… in Paracuru, some guys from North were ridding the 2009 Evo and also the new kite for schools, the Buzz. We have some pictures and we will publish them soon
Some broken gear, but the most important thing is lot of kite and fun.

Right now we are in Prea for the next 2 days. On the following days we will make downwinds to Jeri. Then we will go again to Paracuru and Cumbuco.

On the 9th of November we have our flight back to Lisbon, so we will back to the office on the 10th of November, stay tuned!
