With the 2013 PKRA season complete athletes and fans alike are already looking forward to the 2014 tour season with all the usual suspense and excitement to come.
The PKRA announced a few important updates regarding the 2014 tour schedule, rule changes, and other pertinent rider information.
Kicking off 2014 will be a new event for the PKRA at Nitro City, Panama, February 18 – 23.
The complete and official calendar for the 2014 tour season has been released, with some fresh and exotic locations, as well as many of the established and much loved classic events. With so many new riders as well as returning tour veterans, 2014 is going to see many talented athletes battling for the world title.
Also, the official online voting results for the PKRA riders committee are in. The committee shall consist of: Aaron Hadlow, Gisela Pulido, and Christophe Tack.
Pertaining to rule changes, the following rules were voted in and will be implemented in 2014:
-Any Hinterberger Mobe attempt will be scored as a Hinterberger Mobe. However, if not performing a proper Raley prior to the rotation, scoring will be significantly lower.
-The number of pre-qualified riders was changed to top 12 and 2 wildcards for the men and top 6 and 1 wildcard for the women.
-Regarding the switch rule, the vote came to a tie. A such, new vote will decide this outcome.
