Red Bull Batalla de Trafalgar

8 September 2011 | 9:44 am

Spain, France and England will see each other’s faces on the sea because of this competition. Don’t miss the chance to participate in it alongside the best kiters of the moment! Gisela Pulido and Mallory de Villemarque will be the captains of the Spanish and the French armies, respectively.

In 1805, Cape Trafalgar was the place where one of the most well-known battles in history was fought between Spain, England and France with the aim of overthrowing Napoleon Bonaparte. From the 7th to 12th of October, the waters in Cadiz will stage this battle again, but in a much more fun and less military way, as the only weapon allowed for the participants will be their kite.
Gisela Pulido will be the captain of the Spanish Army, Mallory de Villemarque will the French captain and there’s no decision on the English Captain yet. Each one of the captains will be allowed to choose 5 professional kiters to compete for their team. The first day competition will be a freestyle one. The second day will have a race format and a maximum of 100 people per team will be allowed to race, but only the 10 best kiters of each team will score points.

Are you a kite surfer and want to join any of these teams? Don’t wait and go for it! The Red Bull Batalla de Trafalgar gives you the chance to participate in an original event alongside some of the best kite surfers in the planet. Go to, join up and choose which country you want to compete with!
