VAKE 2011. The longest, hardest and most extreme snowkite race in the world
The VAKE 2011 has been approved by the ISKA, The International Snowkite Association, to be the ISKA World Championship in long distance snowkiting.
In cooperation with Varanger Kite-Club, The International Snowkite Association(ISKA) and The Norwegian Kite Association, VAKE 2011 turns the ISKA World Championship in long distance snowkiting.
A three day event in Finnmark, northern Norway, 200 km in air distance, two-man team, maksimum 25 teams. There will be an entry fee of approx. 1500,- NOK (approx. 200 Euro) pr. pers. This will cover bus Kirkenes – Berlevåg, Berlevåg accommodation includes breakfast, transportation to the starting area, bus with driver available during the event and banquet.
To participate you must be in extremely good physical shape, have excellent kiting experience and must know how to survive out in arctic winter condition.
