Nutcase helmets – review

18 March 2010 | 11:19 am

“The most fun a helmet ever had”

Do you love your brain? Get smart and start using a helmet whenever you skate, bike, snowboard, ski, windsurf, wakeboard or kitesurf!
Nutcase have some amazing and fun helmets to protect your head. They are comfortable and stylish.

Nutcase water helmets

Nutcase water sport helmets have an ABS injection shell, waterproof shock absorbing liner, 11 vents for ventilation and water drainage, full surround interior and removable cupping ear guards. They are specially designed to absorb the energy of impacts in water and we all know that sometimes they can be really violent especially in wakeboarding or while training new freestyle tricks in kitesurfing.

Nutcase helmets

Nutcase Helmets have amazing, creative, really cool, powerful designs so you will definitely make heads turn kitesurfing at your local spot.

We have already tried them and from what we know Gisela Pulido as well. They are very comfortable; you almost don’t feel them on your head. And what is more important you feel more confident. If you happen to fall on your head while training some trick the shock will be absorbed. Even in very hot weather you don’t get hot due to ventilation. During winter it’s a must to wear a Nutcase helmet, beside the protection it offer against crashed, you will able to get your head warmer and protected from the coldest winds.
Summing up, it’s safe, comfortable and cool. Once you get use to them there are no disadvantages.

Nutcase Helmets was founded in US by former Nike Creative Director and designer Michael Morrow and from the very beginning the reaction of fans to their really cool graphics and designs were very positive. “We recognised a gap in the marketplace for cycle and skate helmets, where they were either solid black or a licensed character. There was nothing ‘cool’ from a graphics standpoint for youth and adults,” says Michael Morrow.“We made Nutcase helmets for ourselves, our kids and our friends. The response has been tremendous.” That was in 2005. Since then they have designed tons of really cool helmets for almost every possible sport. The range is huge so almost everyone can express their personal style. “People are not going to wear helmets any less in the future, so somebody has to make them more exciting to wear. That ‘somebody’ is Nutcase!” said Morrow.

We are sure that after seeing their original, unique and very imaginative designs you will not have to be encouraged to buy one for yourself and you use it whenever you do sports. After all you do love your brain, don’t you?

Pros: Light, comfortable, cool graphics, effective protection against crashes and cold.
Cons: There aren’t helmets without graphics (only one color).

Very nice helmets! You forgot to mention that the earpeaces can be taken off if someone does not like them. The hole for the string has to be made a little bigger though.
