Xenon Rayo – Review

Rayo by Xenon boards

What strikes most of us when we see a new board?
No matter how hard we try we always seem to judge a book by it’s cover. We usually pay most attention to the design and Rayo is really stylish.
Simple graphics, beautiful colors, small and discrete logo and a little “window” that lets you see the core of the board.

In terms of construction it can only be compared with some of the best brands on the market. It is surprisingly light, weights almost nothing and has a solid wood core combined with fiberglass laminate; mate not glossy.

The boards are being produced with the use of an innovative technology that combines specially selected wood core with flex placement. This guarantees great comfort while speed riding and ensures up wind abilities and great pop. It comes with quite comfortable fittings: great pads and straps and G10 Xe 54 mm durable thin fins. This combo definitely improves board’s overall performance.
The pads and straps are similar to the ones that La Luz have. Pads are also extremely light and give you a direct feeling of the board and footstraps are very easy to place on the board and can be easily adjusted to any foot.

All Xenon boards have 3 years guarantee so you can really trust them!

Now comes really important part. How is the board on the water?
First of all it is an easy board to ride for the beginners and intermediate riders. It is very forgiving.

Seems to be the perfect choice if you want to improve your kitesurfing, learn and train new tricks because of it’s good pop. It is quite wide so it starts planning fast and due to its concave and long fins goes really well upwind.

It is not very fast though you might consider it a good thing if you learn how to jump and still didn’t quite master the landings.
An intermediate ambitious rider will definitely appreciate soft landings due to it’s flex that also absorbs all the shocks on choppy water.

We tested the 130cm board, but Xenon Rayo is available in 4 Sizes: 130cm, 134cm, 138cm, 145cm.

Summing up. Xenon Rayo is another proof that Polish make really great boards. Solid construction, great design, perfect look, comfortable and easy riding.
This board has all the qualities you would search for if you are interested in improving your style!
