Cabrinha boards 2009
Cabrinha presented their 2009 boards. Kitemovement already show you a couple of photos of the boards, but now it’s the oficial release.
The 2009 Custom is our premier Wakestyle twintip board. For the 2009 Custom, we’ve expanded on the 3D bottom concept we started one year ago. The quad concave channels have been increased in definition throughout the tips for a more aggressive bite. The increase in channel depth allows the board to be ridden finless when needed. This is perfect for hitting sliders or performing wakestyle tricks between hits on the obstacles.
Adding to the improved bottom shape is the reduction of the concaves through the center of the board. This is especially helpful when landing big tricks slightly off axis. The forgiving center section gives the rider a stable, less catchy landing platform while the concave tips provide all of the bite needed. We have moved to a wood core on the custom for added durability and a smoother ride.
The Caliber is our newest edition to the Cabrinha board line-up. The Caliber is a Freestyle / Freeride model with excellent speed and tracking abilities. The Caliber features a wider tipped outline and has a lower rocker line than the Custom, which makes it quick to plane and get you through the light spots.
The Caliber takes full advantage of its 3D bottom shape to deliver a high level of edge control. The Caliber also features a flat center section for a smoother ride and easy landings. The 3D X deck provides torsional rigidity to keep the tips from washing out when edging hard. The Caliber is built with our Wood Core, which delivers unparalleled strength while staying lightweight. If you like to ride hard and fast and want the ultimate performance for Freestyle or Freeriding, the Caliber is the board for you.
Everyone from pros to bros sing the praises of a wood core board. Wood cores provide a dampening through choppy waters to deliver a smooth ride. The Prodigy, with its Pauwolina wood core is an All Round Freeride performer. When it comes to multi styles of riding the Prodigy is up for the task. The new Prodigy has been updated with a new wider outline.
The Plasma is our new, dedicated light wind board design. The design brief was centered on making a board that would be ridden in the threshold conditions of 10-12 knots. We not only wanted a board which would plane quickly but would deliver a high level of performance suited for light wind riding.
The result is a lightweight twin tip design with a wider, parallel outline and off center 3-D section and foot positioning. The PVC core Plasma has excellent tracking abilities and knack for getting a rider upwind in marginal conditions.
Beside these new models, Cabrinha will comercialize the 2008 S-Quad and Imperial.
