A kite surfer, Sean Sands, has died after getting into difficulties kiteboarding off the coast of Norfolk, UK.
Emergency services were called after the man apparently in trouble was spotted in the North Sea at Hunstanton, on Saturday.
Sean was pulled unconscious from the sea and was treated before he was transported by a helicopter to hospital, where he later died.
In a statement, the Hunstanton Sailing Club said: “Sean lost control of his kite and for reasons not known to us yet, was unable to trigger his emergency quick release.”
A flag flew at half-mast outside the sailing club over the weekend.
