City Kite NYC
“Kitesurfing can be dangerous. A Kiter should never take risk and kite near large building or in urban environments.”
This statment opens the photo album called “City Kite NYC” of Kitesmurf, photography and video production firm that specializes in kitesurf photography.
Unlike most of the kitesurf photographs the images do not show breaking waves, blue sky, open spaces and the sun.
Instead the City Kiter launches his kite on busy streets of the city that never sleeps, streets of New York.
The original concept of the series City Kiter came from the work of an another photographer that captured the images of the athlete outside of his “natural habitat”. Inspired by that concept and Ruben Lenten Street Kiting stunts in Holland Rob Kalmbach (Kitesurf) decided to picture a kitesurfer on streets of Manhattan. Fully equipped rider, with his wetsuit, harness and kite embodies love of the sport, its energy and danger.
