KiteMovement’s Malware issue

10 October 2011 | 6:51 pm

Over the last 2 days some visitors received the message that visiting KiteMovement might harm their computers. For that we apologize!

First we thought that KiteMovement got hacked, so we revised all our code in search for some “bad code”.
As a result we realized that all the files were fine.

After some brainstorming, we detected that the problem might be a plugin that we were using or some comments that contained links to some infected websites.

So we deactivated the plugin, removed all the comments that were linking KiteMovement to suspicious websites and submited KiteMovement to Google’s Malware diagnostic.
The result was:

Google has not detected any malware on this site.

We successfully removed the malware and KiteMovement is back!
