The 2014 Kiteboarding 4 Cancer raised over $100,000

20 July 2014 | 3:56 am

A total of 154 kiteboarders sailed the Hood River for more than six hours to raise over a $100,000. In the end, riders completed 2314 laps around the course, in 9-13 knot winds.

The main event of KB4C is a 6-hour endurance kiteboarding race that challenges everyone physically, but especially mentally. This is the Kite Derby, designed to embody the battle that someone facing cancer endures every day.

Brandon Scheid, Carol Bolstad and Team Patagonia Randoms won the 2014 edition of Kiteboarding 4 Cancer. Surfing legend Gerry Lopez and younger legends Ben Moon, Jason Slezak and Jesse Richman participated in this year’s event.
