Kari’s news from Brazil
Second in the wave master, KPWT Brazil.
After a long week with a lot of competitions and many hours on the water and on the beach waiting, KPWT Brazil is finished.

My goal on this event was to do a good result in the waves. I spent many hours on my wave board before preparing for this but I was not sure about my level. After my first heat with Marine Sudre I found out that I had a chance to fight in the top. This gave me energy and made me really believe that I could do this. I beat names like Ania Grzelinska and Kristin Boese.
In the final I met Kirsty Jones, the wave master girl who I really was looking forward to ride against here in the final. It was like my dream come true.
I went to the water and was not thinking that it was actually the final. I only wanted to have fun and show that also girls can ride waves. I made my best heat here in Brazil, and was really happy when I came out from the water.
Only one big smile was on my face. I did not mind if I got 1st or 2nd , I know I did my best and if it was not good enough I had to train more for next event.
In the end, I got 2nd and had my best result in the waves this year. Kristin Boese got the 3rd.
Kirsty Jones is surfing really well now and she is also, after this event, the 2008 Wave Master. I am really happy for her that she made it this year.

In freestyle I met Kristin Boese again and this time she beat me. I was not really happy after my freestyle heat. I know I can do better but this time my level was not good enough in this heat. I hope I will do better in the next event which is in Morocco.
In racing I got 4th and I am happy with this position . Racing is all about the boards and kites. I was riding the ozone sport and edge kite. I have been working on the trimming on the edge and I am now ready for the next racing in morocco with a perfect up wind kite.

We also had a big air best tricks and it was a surprise that I got the 3rd position. I was not expecting this, but my new edge kite was perfect for this. I was really happy to be on the podium here
